The physical structure of the 22 homes Clachan Co-Housing intends to build is still being developed. Materials and design which enable minimum energy use and slight impact on the natural environment are being looked for. Permaculture is being examined closely to see if it provides the systems Clachan folk wish to live by. There will be a range of size of homes from one bedroomed flat to three bedroomed house. All residents would share facilities such as one launderette, a common meeting hall where they would dine together at agreed regular times each week and space to grow vegetables, fruit and flowers as required.
